has anywone written a 3D version of inpolygon

I would like to locate the number of 3-dimensional points inside a convex 3-dimensional volume. In other words I would like to use or write a function equivalent to the MATLAB inpolygon() for use in 3 dimensions rather than on a plane. (I have written a function to do the eqivalent of inpolygon on the surface of a sphere, but that is not the same thing at all). thanks, John
