Issues with setting current directory and files not appearing in files pane 2025b

Hello all, I'm having a few likely related issues. I'm running Matlab 2025b, on a laptop where I use a non-admin account for work, but have access to the admin account. I just did a clean install on the admin account because I was having path issues. I know have my non-admin user account have its own path file following the instructions here: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/660863-how-can-i-configure-a-user-specific-matlab-path-on-a-shared-computer
However, now I have an issue i've never had. When I run Matlab from my users account, and I go to an M file and hit 'run', the pop up window comes up, directing me to either change folder or add to path (as it always has). However, hitting, 'change folder' does nothing. The cd remains the same. I can manually set the directory using the cd command however.
Likely related, the Files subpane is simply empty, despite the fact that there are loads of files in the current folder. It seems like there is some issue where matlab cannot read the files in the folder, nor set the path using the gui popup, even though it can set the path using the 'cd' command. Any ideas here?
Thank you!
