I have to do a assignment, in which word similarity(considering there meaning, ie, taking in to account synonyms) is to be calculated.
Exact function to be implemented is: input two words, return there similarity as a percentile or a numerical value.
Is there any examples or helpful docs on this specific topic?

I really don't understand why Mathworks hasn't developed wordnet functionality. I get it that the big buzz is around "deep learning" and they have to follow the money, but Wordnet has been around for a LONG time, Princeton makes it available and doesn't charge anything. Wordnet is an EXTREMELY powerful semantic analytics database with multi-lingual capacity.
I think that basic functionality would be trivial. That would be better than none.
