Reading quicktime movies on windows

I am trying to do an assessment of some video capture hardware and a thermal imager. I am trying to establish methods of reading the imagery so that I can use it usefully. The issue I am having is that the recording hardware records directly to one of many quicktime formats, and I can't find anything built into matlab that will allow me to read this format in a useful fashion.

How should I go about reading quicktime files via matlab on windows?

Does anyone at all have any idea what the format of an "uncompressed 10 bit" quicktime file is?
