How would I write functions to calculate the Mean, Median and Standard Deviation?

The task says "Although MATLAB comes with a set of built in functions to calculate means, medians and modes; your first task is to write three separate functions that return these values when given any array. You can not call the MATLAB functions to solve these inside of your own function." Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

this sounds like a homework. You should first of all refer to the definitions of mean, median and std deviation.
Take a look e.g. at the documentation for mean and std in matlab.
Type "doc std" then enter.
