deconv result does not match with polynomial division.

I wanted to divide x^2+5x+6 by x+1 and get the quotient and remainder and used deconv as below.

[q,r]=deconv([6 5 1], [1 1])

I expected the answer to be

q = [4 1] and r = 2. But what I got was

q = [6 -1] and r = [0 0 2]. What are the comments on this result?

The coefficients of the polynomials are defined in the opposite direction, such that x^2+5x+6 is [1, 5, 6]:

[q, r] = deconv([1, 5, 6], [1, 1])
