Demodulation of faded 16 QAM signal

Hello! I will appreciate if anyone can help me with matlab simulation. I try to demodulate (using modem.genqamdemod) 16 QAM signal after slow flat Rayleigh channel and AWGN and my SER is always 0.5. What I have to do for propper result? Thaks! Best regards, Den
