Main windows become too small to see after opening simulink or some other models on surface pro 3

Here is my problem:

If I just use the function on main windows, everything looks fine, but once I click a model like simulink, the main windows become pretty small(I mean the words, bars etc. become too small to make out), and never back again except I restart Matlab. I come across this problem on my surface pro 3 tablet, probably that's the reason, but I still want to find some solution from you to figure it out(this is the only computer I can use now).

Well, seems the two pictures are in the same scale here, but in my computer the first one is much bigger, I think you can easily imagine that :-D.

Which version of matlab are you using and does it crash matlab when this happens? I am using R2012A and mine does the same thing, but it also crashes matlab when I actually try to use simulink. I am debating whether or not I should upgrade to the latest version of matlab and if this will resolve the crashing issue. I can deal with the small text.
