Is it possible to tune parameters in a model running standalone on a Raspberry Pi?

The question says it all really, but for more information I am a relatively experienced user of xPC target in a professional context and I am trying my hand at playing with a Raspberry Pi as a hobby. I appreciate the support for Raspberry Pi is a world away from that for xPC Target, however, I was wondering if there were a set of equivalent functions to:

param_id = getparamid(tg, 'block_name', 'param_name'); getparam(tg, param_id); setparam(tg, param_id, value);

Any help would be much appreciated.
