Why matlab 2014 do ont allow running "wmsamp" ActiveX example in GUI?

Dear friends,
I have tried to run my first ActiveX in GUI without success. I tried to use the "wmsamp" ActiveX example which is composed of a ball whose radious can be changed from a slider. The point is, in matlab 2009 64 bits runs Ok but in matlab 2013 and 2014 64 bits does not run (figure associated to activex does not appear). Which can be the problem? To me is mandatory works in matlab 2014 due to license issue.

Hard to say without seeing your code. All I know is I have a GUI and use ActiveX to control Excel all the time. The fact that I have a GUI is unrelated.
