how can i do linear or quadrature optimization for residential power by using optimization tool box

hi i created residential appliances like refrigerator, washing machine etc by using simulink. total power consumption and total cost calculated at the end of the simulation. i want to optimized the power consumption to avoid use of appliances at the peak time. if anyone know how to do the optimization please let me know. thank you!
