How do I resolve the "unable to create documentation-center.html" error?

Hello,
I hope I made it to the correct part of the community.
I am attempting to uninstall MATLAB 2013b from my computer which is running Windows 8.1. I try to uninstall and the error I get is "unable to create documentation-center.html." I tried to find the answer elsewhere, but it brings me to the online documentation homepage (naturally). I got this same error when installing the program, but at least it installed all of the other components first.
I tried all of the compatibility modes and running as administrator.
Thanks for any response!

Hallo, I had the same problem. It was fixed by selecting another installation folder (not the default "Program Files"). OS Windows 8.1 Strange but worked! Regards, Martin

Is it possible that you uninstalled some Visual C++ distributions first? You may need to reinstall these if that is the case.
You can download them from the Microsoft website. Not sure which ones you will need exactly though.
