Is the new splash screen option in the compiler just for the installer?

Or does it show up each time the exe is launched while the MCR is loading? I'm currently setting up wrapper applications so a splash screen comes while the MCR is loading, but if 2013b supports splash screens it will be a good reason to switch to it. I have an additional library that is also loading so it currently takes over a minute for anything to show up.

Hi Jeremy, I'm currently using R2014A and the new splash screen is used both for the (web) installer and launching the application. It's a perfect solution. The only exception is that for some reason, the installation splash screen won't launch when the MCR is included in the package.
