Communication Interface

Transport layer that external mode uses to exchange data between the host computer and the target hardware

Model Configuration Pane: Target hardware resources / External mode

Description

Select the transport layer that external mode uses to exchange data between the host computer and the target hardware.

Note

For the SoC Blockset™ Support Package for AMD FPGA and SoC Devices, use the XCP protocol for simulation as described in External Mode Simulation by Using XCP Communication (Embedded Coder). Support will be removed for TCP/IP in a future release.

Settings

TCP/IP (default) | XCP on TCP/IP

Default: TCP/IP

Examples

  1. In the Simulink® Editor, select Simulation > Model Configuration Parameters.

  2. In the Configuration Parameters dialog box, click Hardware Implementation.

  3. Set the Hardware board parameter to either:

    • AMD Zynq ZC702 evaluation kit

    • AMD Zynq ZC706 evaluation kit

    • ZedBoard

    Then, click Apply.

The parameter values under Hardware board settings are automatically populated to their default values.

  4. If you chose AMD Zynq ZC706 evaluation kit or ZedBoard, set the Feature set for selected hardware board to Simulink or Embedded Coder Hardware Support Package and click Apply.

  5. From the External mode group, select a Communication interface from the drop down list and click Apply.

  6. Click OK to close the dialog box.
