Embedded Systems Engineer

Job Summary

Join our team at MathWorks to help develop ground-breaking products that enable our customers to deploy their systems to hardware using automatic code generation technologies. You will apply your embedded systems expertise to build the workflows and tools required for implementing real-world applications on state-of-the-art SoC platforms.


Design cutting-edge workflows and platforms which allow our users to take their algorithms from MATLAB and Simulink onto real-life hardware implementations.

  • Design and implement SoC and FPGA systems to enable implementation of applications including 4G and 5G wireless and vision systems.
  • Develop MATLAB and Simulink workflow tools and work with 3rd party vendor tools such as Xilinx Vivado to automate the combination of auto-generated IP with custom hardware platforms.
  • Integrate application-specific hardware such as RF (radio frequency) transceivers, sensor I/O, video sources, external memory and other peripherals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree) is required.

Additional Qualifications


  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Experience developing for FPGA/ASIC implementations. 


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with designing and implementing Signal Processing, Image/Video Processing or Communications applications.
  • Experience with FPGA SoCs like Xilinx Zynq or Altera SoC.
  • Experience with embedded systems integration
  • Experience with Embedded Linux
