BMS Overview | How to Develop Battery Management Systems in Simulink, Part 1
From the series: How to Develop Battery Management Systems in Simulink
Learn how to use Simulink® to model and test components of a battery management system (BMS).
This overview video shows how a BMS simulation model lets you explore a wider range of operational and environmental conditions that would be difficult to reproduce with hardware testing. With Simulink, you can model a battery pack and peripheral circuitry, simulate charge and discharge cycles, and develop the battery management system to perform supervisory control, power limitation, cell balancing, and state of charge and state of health estimation. You can test in simulation state-of-charge (SoC) and cell balancing algorithms. With simulation, you can verify the response of the battery management system to adverse temperature conditions and current and voltage excursions outside normal operating ranges.
