Handling Analysis and Control Development of Commercial Trucks with Volvo Transport Models

Volvo performs complex handling analyses for different truck combinations using Simscape Multibody™ (formerly SimMechanics™). A library of truck subsystems and complete vehicles have been developed by Volvo engineers. These libraries enable easy assembly of truck models and fast simulations of dynamics for small and large trucks. Thanks to its fast performance and animation features, this model library, now named Volvo Transport Models (VTM), has been adopted by multiple teams at Volvo. VTM is also used in early phase of truck control development.
