The Stellar Support Package enables you to model advanced embedded applications in Simulink® and generate processor-optimized code that you can compile and execute on ST Stellar Microcontrollers.

Stellar products from STMicroelectronics are designed to address the needs of automotive industry professionals, including OEMs, tier 1 suppliers, and system integrators who develop advanced vehicle electronics. The primary end users are engineers and developers working on automotive embedded systems, particularly those focused on safety-critical and high-performance applications.

Stellar microcontrollers are tailored for a wide range of automotive domains, such as powertrain control, chassis and safety systems, body electronics, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). They support applications like engine management, electric and hybrid vehicle control, transmission systems, braking and steering, airbag deployment, lighting, climate control, and infotainment. With robust multicore architectures, Stellar devices enable complex real-time processing and functional safety, meeting stringent automotive standards.

The products also facilitate secure connectivity and over-the-air updates, making them suitable for modern connected vehicles. Their rich set of integrated peripherals enables interfacing with sensors, actuators, and communication networks. Stellar’s support for Model-Based Design, rapid prototyping, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing further empowers automotive engineers to accelerate development cycles and deliver innovative, reliable vehicle solutions.

The hardware support package (HSP) for STMicroelectronics Stellar automotive microcontrollers supports SR5 and SR6 MCUs. Its primary purpose is to enable integration and development of automotive applications using MATLAB® and Simulink by offering ready-to-use interfaces and configuration tools for all major on-chip peripherals.

Key features include robust multicore support, enabling developers to leverage the full computational power of Stellar MCUs by distributing tasks across multiple cores for improved performance and efficiency. The package also offers advanced Monitor and Tune capabilities, enabling real-time parameter adjustment and system observation during model execution for rapid prototyping and debugging.

The HSP provides direct access to all integrated peripherals (IP) of the Stellar product family, such as UART, ADC, PWM, CAN, SPI, and GPIO, through high-level APIs and Simulink blocks. This facilitates easy configuration, control, and data exchange with external devices and sensors. The package supports code generation, deployment, and testing workflows, streamlining the development cycle from model design to hardware validation. Overall, the HSP accelerates automotive software development by abstracting hardware complexities and providing a Model-Based Design environment tailored for Stellar MCUs.
