Description
The STW ESX.4 series is the fourth generation of robust microcontrollers for both non-safety and safety (multicore) applications in mobile machines. The STW ESX.4 products are freely programmable. The supported Embedded Code Target (ECT) enables customers to automatically program the controllers from Simulink® models. In addition, STW has synchronized the system data pool with the data dictionary in Simulink. A Safety Qualification Kit is available for safety programming through the ECT.
The Embedded Code Target for ESX.4 introduces a comprehensive set of features that streamline development and testing workflows. All BIOS functions are now accessible as Simulink library blocks, and customers can simulate them using Simulink Test™ for enhanced validation. These blocks are not only functionally tested but also link directly to the user manual for documentation.
A new example project demonstrates practical implementation, while integration with openSYDE dashboard functionality enables data dictionary handling via OSY data pools for CAN messages. Key use cases such as I/O handling are supported, with voltage inputs displayed on the dashboard and adjustable PWM output frequencies as needed.
The newly introduced Project Creator Wizard simplifies initial setup, and BIOS documentation is now embedded directly in the MATLAB® environment, alongside detailed references for specific MATLAB functions, ensuring developers have immediate access to all relevant resources.
