Digital Chirp Generator for 77GHz Radar Transmitter
A high resolution 77GHz linear chirp signal synthesizer for Monostatic Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) Radar is presented. The simulated design uses a single PLL for 77GHz chirp output as well as a 10GHz chirpy clock is also derived from it to clock the digital control block which produces the chirp signal. The approach provides good frequency resolution thereby increasing the unambiguous range of radar. High bandwidth of chirp ensures a good radar range while short duration of chirp provides a good velocity resolution and maximum unambiguous velocity.
Steps to run the system:
1. Unzip the files into a local folder.
2. Run "initialize.m" file in matlab.
3. Open "A77GHzRadarTransmitter.slx" in simulink.
4. Go to settings>> Solver and change maximum step size from auto to 1e-12
5. Run the Simulation.
The output is observed in 3 ports viz. 75GHz Analog out, Charge Pump Output and 10GHz clock output.
