Is it possible to simulate flexible body dynamics in SimMechanics?

I would like to see flexible body dynamics simulation to be included in SimMechanics.
Some of the references I use regarding flexible body dynamics are:
Introduction to Dynamics and Control of Flexible Structures (AIAA Education)
by John L. Junkins, Youdan Kim
Modeling, Analysis, and Control of Dynamic Elastic Multi-Link Structures (Systems & Control: Foundations & Applications)

SimMechanics does not support flexible body simulation.
You can carry simple flexible body simulations by modeling a flexible body in SimMechanics as a set of rigid parts connected by stiff springs. This implementation is a crude finite-element analysis and has to be set up by hand.
