How to set up a Battery Cooling Plate for a Generic Battery Model?

4 views (last 30 days)
I am attempting to measure and manage temperaure buildup in a generic Simulink Battery(Electrical/Specialized Power Ssytems/Electric Drives/Extra Sources) under load. What block or set of blocks should I be using to replicate a cooling plate taking heat from the battery into a chiller/radiator loop and putting a new, lower temperature back into the ambient temperature of the battery?

Hello Claud,
you can represent a cold plate as a thermal mass with the appropriate conduction (or thermal resistivity) connection to the battery. Here is a more detailed example of a battery cooling system that already works: https://www.mathworks.com/help/physmod/hydro/ug/sscfluids_ev_battery_cooling.html?container=jshelpbrowser
