resolution of the copied figure

Hello,
When I copy a MATLAB figure to a MS word document, the resolution becomes very poor. How can I make sure that the copied image is a 8-bit grayscale image with a resolution of 300 dpi?

Also, how can I copy it in monochrome(one bit per pixel)?
How do you "copy" the image?
I just copied it from Edit > copy figure option. Please tell me about the sophisticated methods. How can I control the resolution?

on you figure menu: Edit==> copy figure and then paste into Word. This way you wont loose a pixel!
you may also want to, increase font sizes of the texts and axes on your figure before copying, if font sizes appear small in Word file. (Edit==> figure properties & Edit ==> axes properties)
