Estimate frequency/period of noise in an image

Dear fellows,

I'm serching of a method which estimate the frequence/period of the noisei in a image. I tought about denoising an image and then substract it from th original image to get the noise and then, compute the frequency. Is there any better method? Is there a code which does this ?
