Matlab Update Failure - Solution in Uninstall then Re-install?

14 views (last 30 days)
I followed matlab notifications on updates.
I have the 2018b version. First update was 2018b version update 2.
Another notification asked for 2018b update 7. I did that, but after launching again, the blue prompt at the launch said the verison is 2018b update 2, and Matlab is not working at all. Current folder directory is always loading, I cannot see anything in the current folder, and total failure in appearance (screenshot attached). Also I cannot make the workspace visible.
Upon launching, I get immediately a lot of error messages in the command window (also attached).
Can I work this out or I should uninstall it completely then install again? If that's the soultion, can anyone tell me how to do that without losing drive files.

Installing/uninstalling MATLAB will not affect your scripts and files (on your computer or on MATLAB Drive).
To be clear, I do not know what is happening. Here are some resources I would find helpful if I were in your situation.
This post about MATLAB getting "stuck".
This post about performing a clean install.
