My Matlab filterDesigner is exhibiting errors when typed on the command line

Hi,
I have the student version of MATLAB, I am having difficulties with starting the FilterDesigner tool box. Upon typing filterDesigner or fdatool in the command window or clicking the icons in the app selection, there are errors exhibited and as such i'm un able to use the toolbox. I assumed the student version comes with the signal processing tool box. I will be grateful for any answers. Thanks
