Editing values in datafile generated through xml file import

Hi

I imported an assembly from Solidworks into simulink through a .xml file and the revolute joints had default position target values referenced from the associated .m datafile.

When I change the values of these variables in the .m file, the position values do not change in the mechanics viewer diagram. However, when i remove the reference variable from the position target and reenter any numeric value, the diagram updates correctly.

I know that I can always change these values by changing positions in SW and creating a new simulink file (reimporting a new .xml file) but I'm sure there are other more convenient and straightforward ways to do this.

Any ideas what i may be doing wrong?
