could you please tell me how to add mat files?

i have 60 mat files for 5 years, and per year 12 mat files. i want to add 12 mat files of first year, 12 mat files of second year,---12 mat files of fifth year.as i mentioned above, i need to add data, not merge. could you please give me any code for this?

So import the data and sum it.

How are the files named? Are they all in the same folder?

no, they are not in the same folder. files are sorted in each folder monthly.
