I am unable to display the summation value?

while executing the code, I am unable to see the final result. D-array;
K- 0 to N=10;
syms k;
Summ=symsum(D,k,0,N);

What is D? How about
Summ = sum(D(1:N+1));
What does this have to do with image processing or computer vision?
