Matlab 2025a fails to run after apparently successful installation on Win 10

68 views (last 30 days)
I've been using Matlab 2022a since it was released. Now I'm trying to upgrade to 2025a.
After installing Matlab 2025a on Windows 10 and encountering no errors, it won't run. When started, it opens a new window, appears on the task list of the Task Manager, and displays a MATLAB splash screen saying "R2025a"; but within 30s the window closes and it disappears from the task list, without ever displaying the main window with command prompt.
What's wrong?
