How to make the ouput sqrt(value) and not the value in decimals

Hi,
As the title says. Can anyone help? Also I need to create a unit vector and it would be better to have it as xi +yj +zk /sqrt(x^2+y^2+z^2)
how can i leave it in this format on matlab?
