If you are using a Campus-Wide license, follow the instructions in the URL below:
How can I update or reactivate my Campus-Wide License?
For all other licenses, before following the steps below, please make sure that your license is not expiring. You can check the Service End date in the License Center. Please refer the below instructions for the same: # Log into your MathWorks Account # Select the License. # Click on the Manage Products tab. # Check the Service End Date. # If your Service End date indicates that your license is not about to expire, then please follow the instructions below. However, if the Service End date indicates that your License is expiring then please get in touch with your License Administrators to check for renewal of the license.
You might receive this warning when the MATLAB license file on your computer has an expiration date set by your Administrator and needs to be updated. If you are the End User of the license, please follow the below instructions:
To update the license file:
- Open MATLAB.
- Select the drop-down menu under the "Help" button on the toolbar.
- Select "Licensing".
- Select "Update Current License".
- Select the license that you want to update.
- Click on the "Update" button.
- Confirm that you want to update the license by selecting "Yes" on the next screen.
The license file will be updated automatically using the internet.
After updating the license, you may need to restart MATLAB in order to implement the change. After restarting MATLAB, if the license file is still not updated, then please contact your License Administrator as they might need to update the expiration date.
If you are the Administrator of the license and you need to change the expiration date of the license, then please follow the instructions in the URL below:
How can I set an expiration date for my license file?
If you still receive this warning after performing the steps above, there may be multiple license files on your computer.
To resolve the issue, remove any additional license files that are about to expire.
For help finding your license files, please see the following article:
Where are the license files for MATLAB located?

@Shivam: It does not help not to use Matlab. Your Matlab installation is not tired, but the license will expire on this specific day. You have simply buy a new license.
I have seen this before and try it. But it's now showing this:
License #XXXXXX is no longer eligible to be used on your computer. You should deactivate immediately. This process deactivates all releases of license #XXXXXX on this computer. Once you do this, you will no longer be able to use any release of MathWorks software with this license on this computer. This process contacts the MathWorks Web site via the Internet to exchange license data."
Now what should I do sir?
"You should deactivate immediately. This process...' just like it directed you to. Did you do that? What it told you to do? Then call the Mathworks to renew your license.

Hello, when I tried to follow these steps, it asks to deactivate the current licence. So I cancelled it. Can you help.

@Nikita: We cannot help you. If your license expires, it expires. This is neither a bug nor a problem. You simply have to buy a new one. If you are convinced, that your license should be active, contact MathWorks officially ans ask them for a reactivation.
I have the same problem. When I click on Update the current license, the next window shows my license number with a message "Update Not Required"
Sounds like an installation quirk. Says it needs to be updated and then says it doesn't need to be updated. Call the Mathworks and they will figure it out and fix it FAST AND FREE.

You should contact Mathworks Support if you are having trouble retrieving your license keys for an existing license. The people who volunteer here have no access to the license database.

Just for the ones who are still facing this problem. I have tried the solution suggested by MathWorks Support Team but it did not work. What worked for me was to deactivate the licence from within MATLAB and then reactivate it.
