Overview of Solvers

RF PCB Toolbox™ provides four electromagnetic solvers to support different applications.

Method of Moments (MoM)	Surface current and charge analysis of metal and dielectric structures using planar meshes	Complex layered structures
2-D Field Solver	MoM analysis using 2-D pulse charge approximation of PCB cross sections	Multi-Layer transmission lines in Multi-Layer dielectric above a ground plane, such as microstrip
Eigenmode	TEM solution that includes ground return vias (GRV) and circuit elements	Multi-Layer PCBs with vias
Finite Element (FEM) solver	Full wave 3-D analysis of electric and magnetic fields	Complex arbitrary-shaped structures
