Develop AUTOSAR Adaptive Software Component Model
R2026bThis tutorial shows how to develop an AUTOSAR Adaptive software component model in Simulink®. From an existing model, you create an AUTOSAR Adaptive software component by using the AUTOSAR Component Designer app. Develop the software component by configuring ports, interfaces, and services. Validate the design by simulating the model, and then generate C++ code and ARXML descriptions compliant with the AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform.
Prerequisites
This tutorial assumes that you are familiar with the AUTOSAR standard, Simulink, and the fundamentals of code generation with Embedded Coder® software. For more information about the AUTOSAR standard, see What Is AUTOSAR?
To complete this tutorial, you must have MATLAB® and Simulink and licenses for Embedded Coder and AUTOSAR Blockset.
Example Model
The tutorial uses example model LaneGuidance to create AUTOSAR
Adaptive software component model my_autosar_LaneGuidance.

At the end of this tutorial, AUTOSAR Adaptive software component model
my_autosar_LaneGuidance contains:
An algorithm subsystem that processes input data and produces output data
Required and provided ports, each with an assigned data interface
A software component service interface that specifies software component communication and execution behavior
For your reference, you can open example model
autosar_LaneGuidance, which shows the finished software
component model.
What You Will Learn
You will learn how to:
Create an AUTOSAR Adaptive software component model in Simulink.
Configure AUTOSAR Adaptive software component ports, interfaces, and services.
Simulate an AUTOSAR Adaptive software component in Simulink and generate code compliant with the AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform.
Note
Building an executable requires a Linux® environment. On Windows®, you can still generate C++ code, ARXML files, and service implementation code.
