Developing integrated energy systems is an important area of future research. The undergraduate course Introduction to Integrated Energy Systems offered by Professor Qinran Hu at Southeast University’s School of Electrical Engineering aims to explore the relationship between energy systems and the development of human society.
MATLAB® is used for demonstrating simulations in this course. Professor Hu primarily uses MATLAB live scripts and App Designer to explore innovative teaching models based on different teaching content, helping students accelerate their learning of how to use MATLAB to solve real-world problems in integrated energy systems. He uses MATLAB live scripts to deconstruct the modeling process of integrated energy systems and introduce the optimization problem of joint operation through practical examples. Additionally, Professor Hu has developed interactive demonstration applications using App Designer to facilitate simple simulation of integrated energy systems.
MATLAB requires no complex configuration, making it very user-friendly for students new to programming and simulation software. Its extension functions can be obtained directly through the Add-On Explorer, allowing for one-stop installation and use. Whether students choose to pursue further studies or enter the workforce in the future, MATLAB can help them adapt to the work environment more quickly.
