5G/6G Wireless Communications Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a development engineer to help shape the future of wireless communications by designing, implementing, and maintaining physical layer (PHY) simulation tools for 5G and emerging 6G systems. In this role, you will develop link‑level and system‑level simulation frameworks used to evaluate wireless system performance.

This position involves a range of skills, including:

  • Ability to translate 3GPP specifications and research concepts into simulation models
  • Knowledge of receiver techniques and MIMO systems
  • Familiarity with channel modelling theory
  • Proficiency in design, implementation, and testing of software products
  • Knowledge of AI for wireless communications
  • Communication skills for engaging with customers and understanding their workflows and requirements
  • Ability to develop technical demos showcasing wireless simulation tools

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of world‑class software tools for simulating wireless communication standards
  • Develop and maintain software models of the physical layer (PHY) of 5G and emerging 6G technologies
  • Translate 3GPP specifications into accurate software models
  • Design and implement AI‑assisted PHY models
  • Understand customer workflows and industry practices to ensure tools address real world needs
  • Lead feature development across the full lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, documentation, and integration 
  • Create examples and demonstrations that showcase best practices and highlight our tools' capabilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
  • Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United Kingdom.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with wireless communication standards such as: 5G, LTE, WLAN, and familiarity with emerging 6G concepts
  • Familiarity with AI for wireless techniques
  • Knowledge of MATLAB
  • Programming experience in C/C++
