Senior Technical Consultant - Aerospace and Defence
- Job: 35169-TREM
- Team: Technical Sales Engineering
- Location: UK-Cambridge
Job Summary
Join the MathWorks consulting team in Cambridge and help leading aerospace and defence organisations solve challenging engineering problems using MATLAB, Simulink and Model-Based Design. In this role, you will work directly with customers on high-impact technical engagements, helping them improve engineering workflows, adopt advanced simulation and verification approaches, and deliver better systems more efficiently.
This is a hands-on technical consulting role for an experienced engineer who enjoys understanding complex systems, working directly with customers and creating practical solutions. You will work across a range of customer programmes and technologies rather than being tied to a single product or platform. Most of your time will be spent on technical delivery, applying MathWorks tools in new ways and influencing engineering practice at key organisations. Additional opportunities will allow you to develop skills such as project leadership, shaping technical engagements, and collaborating with MathWorks product development teams to influence future releases of our software.
We are open to hiring at Senior or Principal level, depending on your experience. At Senior level, you will scope, lead, and deliver projects autonomously. For Principal, you will also be recognised as a source of expertise within the EMEA team and will lead strategic business development opportunities.
Why this role?
- Apply your technical depth to varied, real-world engineering problems across aerospace, defence and adjacent safety-critical industries.
- Stay close to hands-on engineering while increasing your influence with senior engineers, technical leaders and programme teams.
- Help customers improve development efficiency, product quality, verification confidence and adoption of Model-Based Design.
- Bring customer insight back into MathWorks and help influence future product capabilities.
