We are seeking a talented software engineer to join our target & deployment infrastructure team. You will be joining a team of developers who are responsible for software infrastructure used by the Coder toolboxes and other hardware targeting products at The MathWorks to enable effective and efficient customization and optimization of MATLAB and Simulink features for hardware and software platforms. You will be primarily responsible for developing new features and maintaining existing features of this infrastructure. This role may also encompass other aspects of our Coder support.
You will work to define a data model capturing aspects of a hardware/software platform to allow users to define specific platform capabilities for their target, with a particular focus on device driver abstraction.
You will use the data model abstraction to design MATLAB and modern C++ 17 APIs to allow efficient definition and re-use of platform data as well as design re-usable deployment services for common platform workflows as well as contribute to workflow design.
To achieve this, you will work with multiple internal product teams to integrate their platform specification requirements and workflows, therefore you will be required to work closely with other team members in Cambridge, UK and Natick, North America.
- A bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
- A good first degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline from a top tier university
- Software development experience in C++, MATLAB, or other high level programming language
- Experience with object-oriented programming (OOP)
- Experience developing software calling device drivers
