An Introduction to the Mathematical Theory of Waves

Written for undergraduate students in mathematics, engineering, and science programs, this book provides an introduction to basic terminology and concepts found in mathematical studies of wave phenomena. The book is divided into three parts: an introduction to one-dimensional waves and their visualization, traveling and standing waves, and waves arising from conservation laws. MATLAB functions are presented to animate solutions of examples in the book.
